National Highways

National Highways carryover 40% of total traffic of our country. In order to boost economic development of the country, the government has setup a benchmark on a massive National Highways Development Project (NHDP) in India. The estimated cost of NHDP is to be Rs.54,000 Crores or USD 13.2 billion. This is a major initiative for capacity enhancement of the National Highways. NHDP’s primary focus is on developing roads with international standard along with all necessary facilities for uninterrupted flow of traffic.

NHDP is being implemented in multiple phases at present by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The present phases improving more than 49,260 km of arterial routes of National Highways Network to international standards.
